Cabinet lid off
From mint media
An overview of the electronics, showing the PC board, hard disk and monitor high-voltage stage on the left. Vertically mounted multi sync CRT monitor in the centre. The modified keyboard and on-off switch is on the right.
You can also see the white plastic speaker housings, taken from an old multi-media PC. These provide a nice reflex response which is combined with the natural resonance of the wooden cabinet itself.
The monitor is not the 60 Hz fixed frequency as in the original machine. However it has the advantage of being able to scale the image so you can play horizontal aspect games. The software does fake scan lines by omiting every other scan line and still running in a 1 to 1 non interlaced mode.
