A collection of international and New Zealand short films around a digital theme. Student work and some horrible 3D stuff dominated the selection. It felt like a series of showreels to me. Standouts where 458nm in which bionic snails embrace in an alternate mechanical enviroment. Great sound construction and design with lots of analogue pops and other artifacts. Twist in the tail is fitting and adds warmth to the mechanical aesthetic.

Cellusions is animated cubisim - very refreshing to see some nice square edges after all the horrible polyhedral forms of many of the other films. It's the development of the human from leaving the ocean forward. See: Nude Descending a Staircase to get some idea.
